TomTom #GetsMyHeartRacing

A few weeks ago I was invited by the lovely people at RunningBug to test out the swish new running watch from TomTom, the TomTom Runner Cardio. The new watch uses fancy technology to monitor your heart rate whilst you work out so you can push yourself to your limit without having to wear one of those annoying chest straps.

Working in co-ordination with your heart rate in any exercise has been proven by many science buffs to help aid fat burn and improve cardiovascular fitness which helps fight off nasty heart diseases that can creep up on you in later life. Depending on your goals, the watch & post-activity reports can tell you what zones your working in too make sure you’re on track to reach your goal be that fat burning, endurance or all out sprinting.

Having only received the watch last week I’m still in the early stages of testing, yet have become addicted to knowing what my heart rate is at every minute of every day! This watch is not just for the runners out there, as the accurate heart rate monitor can tell you how many calories you've burnt no matter what tom-foolery you’re participating in... Even attempting a sort of cartwheel on a windy day on a beach walk....

One week in and I’m in love! Easy to use, syncs to a simple to read app on your iPhone or computer and isn’t too offensive too look at (seriously though TomTom you need more colour ways than just red & black or red & white!!).

There’s a bunch of us finding out #WhatGetsMyHeartRacing so have snoop through the hashtag and see what my fellow running bugs think too!

Have you ever used heart rate monitoring to tailor your runs or workouts? Let me know what you think of the watch!?
