The easiest way to find out what I'm up to is through twitter.. I'm an addict! The fitness community on there is amazing, inspirational and motivational to say the least. So when a fellow duo of fit bloggers turned their amazing blog into a fully functional e-commerce site (more here) who was I to turn down an offer to join them in celebration!
To celebrate the launch of Fashercise - an amazing online fit-fashion shopping destination - the girls held a one week pop up at Boxpark with a free class everyday for the week the pop up was open, which included Boxing, Yoga, Ravercise and Hula Hooping, it was hard to choose which event to attend.. but then I saw one of the classes was the much raved about Boom Cycle and was instantly sold!
Boom Cycle is a group cycling class, which has become one of the biggest fitness trends London has seen in a long time! Combining a highly effective sweat inducing exercise class with awesome beats and a very excitable instructor, you spin away the hour slot in what feels like minutes! Its all about awesome music and pure girl power which I loved, just a shame they don't have a Northamptonshire branch as I'd be in there all the time!
Being at Boxpark we did the class outside, which did attract a lot of attention and photographs but its all good fun! Post workout we were all given delicious juices from Imbibery and tasty snacks from Bounce whilst we indulged in a little shopping round the Fashercise pop-up- sadly we then had to make a quick dash as the cost of parking in the area is INSANE!
I've always been a huge fan of Spin, but my friend is a devout yogi, so I dragged her along to experience it for the first time! Unfortunately it wasn't quite her thing and she left half way through, sorry to tell the world this Sim, but I see this as such a positive example of how you should try everything once, fitness should be fun and its so important that you find what works for YOU and keep trying new things, so that exercise becomes something positive that you enjoy rather than a chore. For example I suck at Zumba and couldn't think of a worse way to spend an hour, but spin, bootcamp, circuits... I adore!
Its not for everyone but if you can get through the 30mins-1hr class then I'd highly recommend it, its a super intense fat burner targeting legs, glutes & core and burning between 400-800 calories in just one class- for reference 100g of dairy milk is approx 500 calories ;-)
Have you ever tried boom cycle or spin and more importantly have you shopped at Fashercise yet, and what did you buy!?
Big thank you to the lovely Fashercise ladies for inviting me along!
Kirsty x
